Creativity

Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. I love that little children are naturally creative and are eager to share their creations with those they love. You can see joy and delight in their eyes, faces and even in their bodies as they jump up and down and clap. For many different reasons, as we begin growing up some of us lose that enthusiasm and stop creating. I've not considered myself creative in visual arts, however, a couple of years ago I invested in some art materials and family members have added to them with gifts. Because the arts do not come easy for me, I've had to learn to enjoy the process and not be consumed with the outcome. Sometimes my creations make me laugh out loud! A few have made me feel good about the progress I've made. Mostly, though, painting slows my body, the colors open up my heart, and the noise in my head takes a backseat. I've also had the privilege of creating alongside my grandchildren. What a beautiful experience! I encourage you to simply bring out crayons, watercolors, or pencil and paper and begin creating - not for the outcome, but to enjoy the process and experience. Scripture tells us that we are created in the image of God. He is and has always been THE Creator. Explore how He has created you! Live the way you want to be remembered!
