Weary and Lonely

Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. I know some of you have had a difficult week,
and some have had difficult months or even years. Sometimes it seems that challenging events
or conversations pile on top of one another. We may begin to feel weary or lonely, not sure if
we have enough energy to carry out our responsibilities. Because Scripture has so much to offer
us when we feel this way, today will be a day of encouragement.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give
you rest.”
In Isaiah 40:20, we are told, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the
weak.”
Galatians 6:2 tells us to, “Carry one another’s burdens…”
And 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…”
Psalm 34:18 is comforting in reminding us that, “The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves
the crushed in spirit.”
May this week be one of renewal and hope for you. May you seek friends or family to come
together to support one another. May you seek the Lord, the giver of life. Live the way you
want to be remembered!
