Let’s set ourselves free by focusing on how we want to LOVE others this week.
Words to SPARK your Heart-Song from our co-founder Sherry Douglas.
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. It’s the day of LOVE.
As I read about Valentine’s Day, I saw several articles about the state of our mental health during February. As it turns out, many, whether in relationships or not, suffer some depression because they feel left out. When we feel left out, what do we do? We compare our experiences to others.
Comparison never wins! Let’s set ourselves free by focusing on how we want to LOVE others this week. Call an old friend to catch up. Take your neighbor some cookies. Ask a friend out for a cup of tea. Ask someone over for popcorn and a movie. This is a subtle, but an essential mind shift. A shift from thinking about ourselves and what we’ve missed, to thinking about others and how we can make their week better. In the process, we’ll make our week better.
Focusing on 1 Corinthians 16:14 will steer us away from feeling down and out, and bring us to a place of gratitude and kindness. It says, “Let all that you do be done with LOVE.” Let’s place this Scripture on our mirrors, refrigerator doors or other places we’ll see it often. It’ll impact us in ways we never imagined. Become a conduit of LOVE. Be creative. Be you!
Have a wonderful week LOVING others and living the way you want to be remembered. See you next time.
