Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. If you’re like me, you’ve been seeing social media posts of people being intentional about giving thanks each day of November. What a great way to form a habit of being thankful. Many of us have everything we need, and some of us have MORE than we need. But giving thanks isn’t only about material possessions, is it? We’re also thankful for the people we love who also love us. As our hearts are drawn to give thanks throughout this month, let’s also remember those who are lonely and feel like outcasts, who possibly have no one to show them love. One group we know feels this way is men and women in the prison system. Remember from last week, you can join in sending Christmas cards to inmates of the State of Ohio and beyond. Feel free to look up the CARDS FROM CHRIST Facebook page for the directions or see the comments below. Please contact Heart-Song by Friday, November 12 if you want to drop off your cards to be delivered along with others from the Troy, Ohio area. If that timing doesn’t work for you, you can also participate on your own by following the instructions to get the cards where they need to go by the deadline.

Hebrews 13:1-3 says, “Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” A simple way to do this is to get involved in CARDS FROM CHRIST! Happy November! Live the way you want to be remembered.

See you next week.
