Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. As of today, November 1st, Christmas is 54 days away! Christmas is a joyful time for many of us, but for some it can be extremely lonely. Most of us will celebrate the birth of Jesus and Santa Claus coming to town by gathering with family and friends during this sacred Christmas season. But there are thousands in the State of Ohio who will not have that pleasure.

Some of the loneliest people are those incarcerated. We’ve learned so much from Kent Money who along with his wife, Chris, have served and loved this population for decades. Heart-Song has partnered with Troy Church of the Nazarene to join in the Facebook group the Moneys have created called CARDS FROM CHRIST. This group provides Christmas cards to all male and female Ohio inmates AND beyond. The goal of CARDS FROM CHRIST this year is to gather 100,000 Christmas cards that the inmates will personally be given. This brings indescribable joy for these men and women.

We invite you to join in! If you write cards, and you’re in the Troy, Ohio area, we’ll make sure they’re delivered along with ours. Heart-Song must have them by Friday, November 12th. You can email MyHeartSongInc@gmail.com, or message us through this Facebook page to make plans to drop them off. When writing, there are specific rules that MUST be followed or the cards will not be distributed. The rules are on the CARDS FROM CHRIST Facebook page and also in the comments below.

Matthew 25:40 says, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ CARDS FROM CHRIST is a simple, but highly impactful way to do something for the “least of these brothers and sisters.” Live the way you want to be remembered!

See you next week.
