Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. We’re in the last few weeks until school starts again. What this year may bring is anyone’s guess. Some of us do not have students to get ready, but we can all ready our minds, hearts, and attitudes for whatever autumn and winter may bring.

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Worry has never solved a real or perceived problem. Worry only causes us and those around us more stress. We can pray about any concern we have. Prayer is two-way communication – us sharing with God and us listening to hear how he responds. Think of it like a child talking with his or her mom or dad. As parents we want and expect our children to ask us for things needed and desired. It’s the same with God. He wants to be in relationship with us. He wants us to tell him about our needs, concerns, and desires. As we thank him for taking care of us through whatever may come, our hearts become lighter. We’re never alone. The Lord is always present and always available to us all – for those just beginning to seek the Him, for those who have been in relationship with him for decades, and everyone in between. There is nothing that needs done by you before you talk with the Lord, to have access to his love. It’s yours, even if you do not ask.

And the result of turning to the Lord? You will experience God’s peace, which is beyond understanding. His peace will be with you in school, work, and home. When you seek the Lord, his peace will go wherever you are.

Live the way YOU want to be remembered.
