Words to SPARK your Heart-Song from our co-founder Sherry Douglas.

Hi everyone, I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. We’ve been discussing the Life Story Editing resource. Last week we looked at Step 4: Create Margin, which is about reviewing the day we just lived. It’s important to renew and restore our spirits by recalling the goodness of the day. By doing so, we are encouraged to create and look for the goodness of the next day.

Today we will focus on Step 5: Invest. We encourage you to continue investing in yourself. You are so worth it! This step involves creating a personal Compass Statement, a life-guiding statement that will direct the next steps for living your most meaningful life. Think of a compass used by hikers in the wilderness. The compass consistently indicates to them the magnetic north. By heeding its message, they always know the direction they’re heading. Most likely, the path they take will not be straight. There will be obstacles they have to navigate around, hills and valleys to walk, or streams to cross. The same is true in our lives. We may know our destination, but there will be challenges and obstacles to navigate. Our personal Compass Statements serve as our True North so we are aware of the direction we’re heading. If we get off track, it serves as a reminder to make the needed adjustments. Your Compass Statement becomes a filter to keep you moving forward with purpose.

To create your Compass Statement, and each one is unique, we invite you to make an appointment for a conversation with us. With the restrictions due to Covid-19, the appointments will be set for the near future.

To schedule an appointment or to receive your free copy of Step 5: Invest, please email MyHeartSongInc@gmail.com. If you haven’t received the other Steps, we’ll send those also.

The Scripture I want to share with you today is Proverbs 4:26, “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” The Lord wants us to continually evaluate, and edit when needed, the paths we walk. He wants us to be dedicated to being who he has created us to be. His Word is the ultimate resource to help us appraise the path we’re on. The Compass Statement is a simple, additional resource that can help on your personal journey. This is the Word of the Lord. Thanks for listening. See you next week.
