Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Usually at the end of these messages, I say, “Live the way you want to be remembered.” That’s the direction Heart-Song wants to send you. It’s living life with intentionality…living life to its fullest…and being the best version of yourself. Many of us struggle to find purpose and meaning in life. Most of us wonder why we were created and what we’re supposed to do with the one life we have been given. We wonder if what we’re doing truly matters. Living a life of purpose isn’t something we can mimic in others. We have to do the hard work of exploring and identifying what that distinctively means for each of us.

Let’s start by naming what is important. Identify activities you’re currently engaged in that sincerely bring you joy, fulfillment, or add meaning to your life. These tend to be things we would do even if not paid or do even if we had to miss sleep; or things we would fund out of our own pockets. If something is important to us, we’re willing to sacrifice something else to participate in it or to make it happen. What is important to you?

Living a life of purpose almost always involves helping someone else. You may have a specific skill, time, money, or encouragement you can offer to help someone in need. Let’s look around to see who needs help, offer what we have to give, and test how helping others adds fulfillment to our lives. If you don’t know where to start, think about what being a good neighbor means to you. Who will you help?

Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This is such good news and hopefully brings excitement and eagerness to explore how we’re living! God has created you and me in unique ways for good works! He’s ready. Are you? Live the way you want to be remembered.

If you have enjoyed this message, will you please share it with a friend? Thank you. See you next week!
