Hi everyone! I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. We all have dreams and ambitions, but moving forward on one can be challenging, perhaps even paralyzing. Sometimes we have ideas that press into our hearts and minds, but we can’t seem to put them into action. We often feel as though before we take the next steps, we have to have all of the answers to the many questions that go into making a dream a reality, no matter how simple or complex. But, if we wait for all of the answers, we will never chase or reach our ambitions.

This is where faith emerges. Faith in God, if you’re a believer, and definitely faith in ourselves. Having a dream take flight is about trust. Trusting God, as the giver of the dream, and trusting ourselves as the initiators and hands to get it done.

So how do we know when to take the next steps? We can pray, seek wise guidance, and study and explore our concept. Those are all good and important steps to get us where we want to be. But, at some point, we literally just have to DO something… we have to just start, step-by-step to help bring our vision into existence. It takes courage. It also takes flexibility because dreams are about having a picture of what COULD take place, but expecting and understanding our dreams evolve as we move forward.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” If we’re people of faith, we can have confidence that the Lord will guide us while we’re on the journey of our dreams even when we cannot see what is ahead. We can trust that he is with us every step of the way.
