Hi everyone! I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. There’s a quote that says, “Life is short – do stuff that matters.” We have all experienced time zipping by so fast, we cannot account for it and have no idea how we invested it or wasted it. Many can also speak to this quote realizing it first hand – either in losing a loved one or having our own lives take turns different than what we expected. Most likely, we can all agree, life is short.

But, what about the part that says, “…do what matters”? If we interviewed people on the street and asked, “What matters to you,” we would receive numerous and varied answers. Because we are each uniquely made, we have diverse interests and passions. At the same time, because we are all created to be in relationship, one response that would most likely pop up frequently would be “people.” The people mentioned may vary – their children, parents, spouses, but most of us agree that PEOPLE MATTER.

You may have heard of the “One Another” verses of the New Testament – 100 verses that instruct us how to treat one another. PEOPLE MATTER. Whether we are people of faith or not, these verses can help us stay on track with what’s important. I’ll share a few of them:

~Mark 9:50, “Be at peace with one another.”

~Romans 15:7, “Accept one another.”

~Galatians 5:13, “Serve one another.”

~Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind, tender-hearted, and forgiving to one another.”

~Philippians 2:3, “Regard one another as more important than yourself.”

Let’s be about what matters. PEOPLE MATTER. This is the Word of the Lord. Live the way you want to be remembered. See you next week.
