Power of Words

Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Words hold incredible power
because they carry the ability to create, heal, and shape lives. From the very
beginning, Scripture shows us this truth—God spoke the world into being. With
just His voice, light pierced the darkness, oceans were set in place, and life
sprang forth. His words in Genesis 1 were not empty sounds but carried
authority, intention, and the force of creation itself. This reveals that words are
never meaningless; they hold weight and bring forth realities, whether for good or
harm.
In our daily lives, the words we choose can reflect the Creator’s design. Proverbs
18:21 reminds us that “the tongue has the power of life and death,” showing that
speech can either build others up or tear them down. Just as God’s words
created beauty, order, and life, ours can echo that power when used to
encourage, speak truth, or share hope. When we align our words with God’s
wisdom, they become instruments of blessing and transformation, reminding us
that what we say has lasting impact in the hearts of others.
