Words Matter
Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. My heart has felt heavy recently. One reason,
of course, is the plane crash that took the lives of 67 people. Let’s continue to pray for their
families, the rescue workers, and authorities. Another reason is that I’ve seen, heard, and read
such unkind and painful words put out into our world. In last week’s video, Mother Teresa’s
Anyway Poem was read and then a call for us to be and do better as humans was given.
When painful words get spewed out into our world, it not only hurts those who were targeted,
but the ripple effect is immense. But… the same is true for encouraging words. What if we
choose to make a difference? Will you join me in a one week fast of releasing any negative
words out into our world and to purposefully choose uplifting, promising, and hopeful words? A
fast means to give up. Let’s give up the negativity. The encouraging words will be released and
can ONLY bring goodness to the suffering in our families and communities. It’s making a
conscious choice to add positivity to our world. Let’s even ask others to join us in this week-long
choice. It’s not being naïve. It’s being mindful that words matter. Love matters. Kindness
matters. Live the way you want to be remembered.
