Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Author Holley Gerth, says a God-sized dream is “A desire in your heart for more of what God has for you.” Whether you’re a person of faith or not, the idea of a God-sized dream can be overwhelming. The description makes it sound huge and probably beyond accomplishing. 

I think that’s the point, though. If it’s only your dream or my dream, without God in the picture, then it is a human-sized dream. It may be a big beautiful dream and make quite the impact, but our minds and imaginations can only expand so far. We’re finite and limited. However, if it’s stated that it’s a God-sized dream, we expect God to be in the midst of it. And if he’s in the midst of a dream, there’s no telling what it end up looking like. Not every dream will be successful, but with God, that’s ok. He’s there to keep breathing life and hope into us to come up with our next ideas. Many God-sized dreams are fulfilled in our own neighborhoods, in our current communities, within our families or even through transformation within our hearts. Dreams may burn so bright everyone knows of their success or dreams may burn out to only be exchanged for new ones. And we all know some fall somewhere in between. Calling or determining your dream “God-sized,” doesn’t guarantee its success. It guarantees that you’ve invited him to be a part of your life and your ideas. Acts 17:28 says, ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.” He’s our creator. He knows us. He desires us to live for him. He wants to give us God-sized dreams.
