Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Do you like to wait? Most of us don’t.

Last week we discussed options involved when we come up against a brick wall or an obstacle. When we face an obstacle, we may also face a time of waiting. It can be as simple as waiting in line at Kroger to as significant as waiting for medical test results, serious issues at work to resolve, or for life to return to our former normal. A time of waiting can be minutes or even years. What are you waiting for?

The good news is that just one Scripture offers us three encouragements in our waiting. Romans 12:12 says, “Be happy because of the hope you have. Be patient when you have troubles. Pray all the time.” Let’s look at each encouragement. First, be happy because of the hope you have. Hope is the confidant anticipation or the trust you have as you wait. Hope is to expect good things that are beneficial for you. Things may not work out exactly as you desire, but hope keeps our hearts beating and us looking forward to tomorrow. Second, be patient when you have troubles. That brick wall you’ve come up against may be a problem, but with patience you can get over it, around it, or through it. To be patient is to wait like a super-hero. Be dedicated despite the struggle or adversity you’ve come up against. The third encouragement is to pray all the time. Let’s be aware of God’s presence and acknowledge he’s continuously active in our lives. Look up; look around. You’ll begin to see the results of his actions. “Be happy because of the hope you have. Be patient when you have troubles. Pray all the time.” This is the Word of the Lord.

If you have found this video to be encouraging to you, will you please comment below and share with others? Thanks so much. See you next week.
