Love and Kindness
Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. It’s the season of love! In a few days Valentine’s Day will be upon us so we’ve all been inundated with ads to buy flowers, candy, cards, and many other gifts to show someone we care. All of that is wonderful, but what about the day-to-day act of loving, of being kind? Last week on our page we had a quote by Rachel Marie Martin posted:
sometimes
the most powerful
impact you can have
in the world
is simply choosing
to be kind.
It really is that simple! Last week we discussed we make about 35,000 choices a day. So “simply choosing to be kind” is something we must encounter multiple times daily. Being kind is a choice.
Every time we open our mouths, we make a choice. We can spew negative words or we can offer words that build up. We can choose to dash through a door and let it close behind us or hold it open for someone else to walk through. We can leave our dishes for someone else to deal with or we can clear the table for all who ate. We can rage at a fellow driver or smile and wave to them to go in front of us. Choices.
The act of loving someone is simply choosing to be kind! Impact your world in a simple way! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Live the way you want to be remembered!
