Anyone who wants to, can live a purpose-filled life..
Hi, everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. First, a confession. I cannot say I always live an intentional life, but I want to experience it more. I want to use the time I have wisely and not waste it. Of all the blessings God gives us, the amount of time we have is always the same as everyone else. We’ll not ever have more, nor less. Once the day is gone, we won’t, and can’t, get it back. Sometimes at night I wonder about how I spent my day…spent my life. Do you do this, too?
Intentional living may seem complex, difficult, or unattainable, but we can think about it simply as a way to live life. It will look differently among us, but I believe anyone who wants to, can live a purpose-filled life. A strategy is to start by identifying our values and beliefs. One question we consistently ask during the creation of a Life Compass statement is, “What are the character traits, values, or beliefs that you will hold on to no matter what happens in life?” Reflecting on what truly matters to us is a gift we can give ourselves that will have lifechanging effects.
Ephesians 5:15 & 16a says, “So be very careful how you live. Do not live like people who aren’t wise. Live like people who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity.” As we begin exploring how to live intentional lives, this Scriptural encouragement has good words to keep in mind!
Live the way you want to be remembered!
