Words to SPARK your Heart-Song from our co-founder Sherry Douglas.

Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Not right now in the Midwest, but at different times of the year, many of us have experienced being outside when it’s so cold you can see your breath. The frosty air causes the warmth of our breath to appear like a mist or vapor. It then quickly disappears. Even in its briefness, though, its beauty is unmistakable. Isn’t this also true of life? We have all probably felt or said, “Life is short.” James 4:14 confirms this for us, “…you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

In the last few weeks, my husband, Mark, and I have had the privilege of offering support to people we love who are grieving. Through these deaths and celebrations, I’ve been reminded of why it is so important to live the way you want to be remembered. Their stories tell of people serving others in the way God created them. Each one served and loved others uniquely, but definitely in ways with an impact that will pass down through generations.

Ephesians 2:10 affirms our uniqueness and responsibility, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” When we accept we have been created by God FOR God to love and serve people, the impact cannot be measured. Let’s live life the way we want to be remembered. This is the word of the Lord.

Heart-Song offers you the opportunity to explore the way you want to be remembered. It’s a conversation that leads you to create a Compass Statement that serves as your filter to live the life you desire. You can contact us at HeartSongInc@gmail.com or through this Facebook page.

Thanks for being here and see you next week. If you have found this video to be helpful or valuable to you, it would mean a lot if you would share it with others. Thanks so much.

Today’s episode is in memory of and dedicated to these lovely people who have joined Jesus, especially Retired Captain Kevin Ray Pauley of Indiana’s Grant County Sheriff’s Department, my son-in-law’s father, and Retired K9 Officer Geronimo of Indiana’s Marion Police Department, my son-in-law’s K9 partner and friend.
