We make a choice with each interaction.
Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Ohio has seen mostly cloudy skies in January, but we’ve recently had a few days of sunshine. The warmth and brightness of the sun seems to bring some energy back into our lives and perhaps even a lightness to our hearts. Whether it’s truly the warmth and brightness of the sun that gives us better moods and attitudes or not, we feel it’s influence.
The same can be true of the influence that you and I have. The other day I read a quote by Nelson Mandela, “When you let your light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.” Each day we have interactions with those who are rude, angry, or experiencing some difficult trials, but also with those who are happy, thoughtful, and polite. Depending on the closeness of the relationship, our responses may vary, but we make a choice with each interaction. We can choose to be warm and helpful, to smile, and to encourage. They may also see us being honest, patient, and taking steps toward fulfilling our dreams. By letting our lights shine, we may just give them permission to let their lights shine.
Live the way you want to be remembered. See you next time.
