In difficult times carry something beautiful in your heart.
Hey everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. I’m sure many of you may have heard of Blaise Pascal before now, but I have only recently come to know of him. Mr. Pascal lived a short life of 39 years in the 1600s. He was a genius, being a French mathematician, physicist, inventor, philosopher, writer and theologian. The reason I know of Mr. Pascal is not because of his love of math, but because I came across a quote of his that says, “In difficult times carry something beautiful in your heart.”
We know we cannot escape difficult times. We will all walk through some heart-wrenching experiences, so how will we respond? How will we navigate the pain, disappointment, or sorrow? It seems Mr. Pascal has given us a clue by saying to carry something beautiful in our hearts. Because we are unique human beings, that something beautiful will be unique to each of us. Something beautiful may be your faith, a deep-seeded belief, or a mantra that is essential to you. Something beautiful may be a distinctive song, quote, prayer, or scripture. Perhaps your Life Compass Statement of who you want to BE, is something beautiful that you carry in your heart.
If we’re active in building our souls during the good times, we can be assured that through difficult times, the beauty we have stored in our hearts will help carry us through. What is your something beautiful? I encourage you to share your thoughts with someone soon!
Live the way you want to be remembered. See you next time.
