Every choice you make makes you.
Hi everyone. I’m Sherry Douglas with Heart-Song. Have you ever felt overwhelmed with decisions? Sometimes it’s as simple as choosing a TV program or restaurant, but you feel so weary you don’t want to make one more choice. My husband and I have at times said to the other, “You choose. I’m done for the day.”
John Maxwell, who is an author, speaker, and coach on leadership development, says, “Life is a matter of choices, and every choice you make makes you.” Does it matter which pair of socks you wear? It may if you are a fashionista, but in the big scheme of life, probably not. Does it matter if you choose to stay at work on a regular basis until after your kids are in bed? Absolutely. Take a look in the mirror. Do you like the person staring back at you? Can this person be trusted? Would you want this person to be your best friend?
Because there are so many decisions made every day, at some point you and I are going to make an important one and later wish we had chosen differently. Here is wonderful news. Our God is a God of second chances. God still works in our lives! He will always be with us and love us. There may be consequences to the first choice and it may not be able to be undone, but he is eager to walk with us as we navigate those results. He is eager for us to seek his wisdom through prayer, Scripture, and the wisdom of others. The decisions you make today, impact who you are becoming. They impact your tomorrow. Live the way you want to be remembered. See you next time.
